The term “the application” refers to Milky Way Memo application. The terms "us" or "we" or "our" refers to Sergey Prokopenko, the owner of the Milky Way Memo application, registered at the address: 57, Kostromskoy pr., Apt. 51, Saint Petersburg, Russia,194214. The terms “user”, or “you” refers to Milky Way Memo application user.


Our users privacy is important for us. We are committed to do our best to avoid collecting private information, to provide you with full control over how your information is used and distributed, and to keep personal information safe. For safety reason, the application document files are protected from other applications unexpected reading with encryption. Exception applies to long attachments to notes (length more then 32 Mb) which are stored as original separate files by default and to any video and images represented in attachments grid by thumbnails which are not encrypted by default . User can reliably protect private data by documents encryption with its own password, in which case all user data are encrypted without exception, and so they are protected from any reading.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use Milky Way Memo application. By using it, you are consenting to our processing of your information in ways set out in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the application.

Information we collect.

We do not collect any private data from our users with exception for the technical support cases as described below. The application itself without the user control does not send any personal information outside from device on which it runs. If user activates Dropbox or Google Drive auto sync option then application documents are copied to those cloud storages. Please, consult with Dropbox and Google privacy policy.

We do not collect or send to third parties any location information which the application can get from Android framework location APIs, when you use “Geofences and tracks” functionality.

For the purpose of technical support user can send us email with technical log attached using third party email client activated from the application «About» dialog. It contains Android OS version, device model, installation dates, error codes and other technical information. We did our best to exclude personal information from the log. But in the case if it is still there we do not take responsibility for possible losses resulting from that. So, please, take care to check the text information in technical log before emailing it to us. Email address, which we receive in that case, will be used for the purpose of technical support exclusively.

Third party applications and services.

This Privacy Policy has no influence on policies of other applications the Milky Way Memo application can send user data to under user control, (using “sent to” context menu option, other options or by a click on notes attachments).

The same applies to third party services the application can access under user control. So, please, consider to consult with there Privacy Policies before using them to avoid possible privacy issues. Those services are Google Play web site (link is provided in the application), Dropbox and Google Drive sync options (activated from document settings main menu option) and «voice to text» input mode which is possible to use in the application Edit mode.

Our voice to text input mode is based on standard device speech recognition service (provided by Google API). And if you use it in online mode (any time when you have Internet access), it is possible to collect your private information sent to that service. Please, refer to Privacy Policy of that respected service owner.

The application uses Google Map API to show tracks, locations or geofences on a map, and loading maps from internet, which is part of Google Play services (We do not use Google Play services location APIs). Please, refer to Google's Privacy Policy here We do not collect or send to third party any information as result from the application uses it.

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect personal information on children under the age of 13. When a user identifies himself or herself as a child under the age of 13 through a support request or through any feedback, we will not collect, store or use, and will delete in a secure manner, any personal information of such user.


We may amend our Privacy Policy in reasonable time period by posting the amended Policy on our website, without directly informing our users. Therefore we encourage our users to review this Policy frequently.
